Neoprene-Lined Wellies

A neoprene lining is a great option for optimum warmth and comfort during the colder months. A durable fabric traditionally used in wetsuits, neoprene will provide thermal insulation and can be more practical than a fur-lined welly. The key brands offering neoprene-lined boots are Le Chameau, Aigle, Muck Boots and Ariat.

Insulated Wellington Boots

If you spend a lot of time outdoors and a lot of time in wellies, you’d be wise to invest in a pair of insulated wellington boots for the colder months. You can pop an extra pair of socks on with any welly, but that can sometimes compromise the fit and comfort, which is where an insulated welly really comes into its own. It works by trapping warmth and keeping it in the boot, right where you need it when there’s an icy wind blowing! The other advantages of neoprene are the comfort and flexibility and it moulds around your foot for a perfect fit. You’ll usually find the neoprene linings in 3mm, 4.5mm or 5mm thickness. Look out for the latter for an extra notch of warmth (as in the Muck Boots Arctic range).

Women’s Neoprene Wellies

One of the key differences between two of the leading premium welly brands is that Aigle make unisex neoprene-lined boots (check out the Parcours ISO), whereas Le Chameau offer a different fit specifically for ladies. We’re all different, so it’s just about finding what’s right for you. It’s also worth checking out the Muck Boots Women’s Arctic Sport boots, which you can get in a tall or shorter version
