Such beautiful boots, the great thing about Le Chameau wellingtons is just how soft and malleable they are. These ladies Le Chameau wellies are a joy to wear, and, as you’d expect from Le Chameau, they are excellent quality, designed and built to last.

The Le Chameau Iris boots all have a polycotton breathable lining (goodbye sweaty feet!) and the sole is just right for what most of us need from a welly: a good grip, but nothing too extreme or chunky.

It’s unusual to find some premium quality well-made wellies in such playful colour choices, and that's one of the things we just love about these Le Chameau ladies wellies. The name Iris is inspired by the Greek goddess of rainbows. The classic black is a popular and versatile choice, or you could go for something more vibrant to brighten up those cloudy days.

This is the ultimate festival welly thanks to the fun colour options and just how lightweight and supple the rubber is, making it so easy to move in these. For casual country walks or popping into town, these are a great versatile and stylish welly.

A little bit about Chamolux

Le Chameau uses only grade A rubber which is combined with a few secret ingredients to produce the Chamolux rubber used to make these boots. The recipe is based on Claude Chamot’s original mix, so the boots are soft and supple when you wear them, and designed to last for years. The flexibility of Chamolux means you can bend down to join in with the kids pond dipping without feeling restricted in these.

Le Chameau follow a meticulous process to make all their boots by hand. The unique formula of natural rubber is hand-cut and trimmed before being stretched into the classic Le Chameau boot shape by a Master Bootmaker (or Maître Bottier). The boots are then vulcanised at optimum temperature to ensure they last for years.

  • 100% waterproof and made using natural rubber
  • Jersey-lined with the iconic tartan-pattered polycotton lining. Lightweight and quick drying, the jersey lining wicks away any moisture to keep your feet dry all day long
  • Ideal for wearing through spring, summer and autumn
  • Available in classic Noir, vibrant Rouge, feminine Rose or elegant Blue Fonce. Decisions!
  • Durable, inside and out, thanks to the resistant-to-wear jersey lining and unique vulcanisation process to ensure the rubber remains waterproof over time
  • Flattering feminine fit
  • Slip these on for a relaxed Sunday stroll, rainy-day school runs, or happy-go-lucky fun at festivals

In 1927, in a seaside village in Normandy France, Claude Chamot had a desire to create the most comfortable and best fitting rubber boot. He had listened to farmers, hunters and fishermen who all wanted a boot that would withstand their daily labours.

Using natural rubber with high elasticity and strength, a new generation of boot was created. Every detail thoughtfully considered and each element honed to perfection. Flexible, durable and waterproof, it was designed to stand up to the demands of the countryside, forest and sea. It was a boot built to last.

Now, almost 100 years later, Monsieur Chamot’s vision continues. Expertise and passion is passed from generation to generation. Apprentice bootmakers learn their craft under the close eye of a master bootmaker before graduating with the title themselves. From first, to the last touch, these craftsmen ensure there is history in the making of every pair of Le Chameau.

Rubber is a natural product. If you care for it, it will last.

  • Store in the dry, store upright
  • Use a boot jack to remove your boots
  • Don’t leave them muddy: wipe with a sponge and water, remove mud from zip and sole
  • Use our rubber spray after washing to prolong the life of your boots

All Le Chameau rubber boots have a two-year warranty from the date of purchase.

The two-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and does not include reasonable wear-and-tear or misuse of the product, which includes colour fading from excessive exposure to UV, heat, chemicals or waste.
