What a great all-rounder. These Le Chameau ladies wellies are strong and sturdy enough for walking and stylish enough for everyday wear. Le Chameau Giverny wellies are beautiful wellies that tick a lot of boxes. They are robust enough that you can walk firmly through mud without slipping and confidently negotiate all kinds of terrain.
The dual-density cross sole on these Le Chameau women’s wellies means they are lighter and more cushiony under the heel and more sturdy and resistant to abrasion around the outside.
From a boot that delivers to this level, you’d almost expect these Le Chameau women’s wellington boots to look and feel cumbersome. And that’s the real skill behind this design: it’s sleek, elegant and minimal fuss. So, despite being strong and sturdy, they don’t look and feel unwieldy and would be right at home paired with a skirt around town. The gorgeously different cherry colour is unique and a lovely elegant alternative to the usual colour options of wellies.
Le Chameau follow a meticulous process to make all their boots by hand. The unique formula of natural rubber is hand-cut and trimmed before being stretched into the classic Le Chameau boot shape by a Master Bootmaker (or Maître Bottier). The boots are then vulcanised at optimum temperature to ensure they last for years.

In 1927, in a seaside village in Normandy France, Claude Chamot had a desire to create the most comfortable and best fitting rubber boot. He had listened to farmers, hunters and fishermen who all wanted a boot that would withstand their daily labours.
Using natural rubber with high elasticity and strength, a new generation of boot was created. Every detail thoughtfully considered and each element honed to perfection. Flexible, durable and waterproof, it was designed to stand up to the demands of the countryside, forest and sea. It was a boot built to last.
Now, almost 100 years later, Monsieur Chamot’s vision continues. Expertise and passion is passed from generation to generation. Apprentice bootmakers learn their craft under the close eye of a master bootmaker before graduating with the title themselves. From first, to the last touch, these craftsmen ensure there is history in the making of every pair of Le Chameau.
Rubber is a natural product. If you care for it, it will last.
