Stelton Thermal Vacuum Jug
1 litre Insulated Coffee and Tea Jug
The award-winning Stelton Thermal Vacuum jug, designed by Erik Magnussen back in 1977 has become a design icon - so much so that Stelton now offers limited edition, "on-trend" colours every Spring and Autumn.
Not only does the jug look good, but it can also perform keeping the contents hot or cold for long periods of time. The rocker stopper opens automatically when the jug is tilted forward and closes when upright; the jug also comes with a picnic stopper for transporting the jug.
Materials: ABS Plastic, Glass filler
Height: 30 cm
Width: 10.5 cm
Capacity: 1 litre
In 1971, Stelton needed new products - especially a vacuum jug - as vacuum jugs were outcompeting more traditional coffee pots in the new and more relaxed coffee culture of the time. It was at this juncture that a young ceramicist and designer named Erik Magnussen stepped into the picture. He designed a vacuum jug that managed to distinguish itself from the Cylinda universe while remaining securely within it. ”The Stelton jug” soon became known for its functional rocker stopper which opened automatically as coffee was poured. The Stelton vacuum jug was also awarded the Danish ID Prize in 1977, and has gone on to sell more than 10 million units since 1977.
